Mark LaFontaine Announces "Community Pride" Fundraiser

Broward’s GLBT Community Rallies to Elect the First Openly-Gay Member of the Florida Legislature

Fort Lauderdale – Broward’s GLBT community leaders will host a fundraising reception for Florida State House candidate Mark LaFontaine (Dist. 92) in his bid to become the first openly-gay member of the Florida Legislature. LaFontaine, a civil rights and community activist, also owns a successful accounting practice in Oakland Park.

The LaFontaine fundraiser will be held at Georgie’s Alibi, a popular gay bar and restaurant in Wilton Manors, on Sunday, June 17 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. For a suggested contribution of $20, guests will receive one cocktail and hors d’oeuvres; the maximum contribution is $500.
